Finished animeThe Melancholy of Suzumiya HaruhiI finally managed to watch Suzumiya Haruhi with much interest. I remember when I first heard about this anime, I doubted that I would truly enjoy it. Not only was the story vague to me, the only thing that I really know about this anime was that the episodes were purposely mixed up. For example, the first episode we watch is actually episode 11.
I must admit, I did not want to watch it. But after being advised from a friend that it was really good... I thought, what the heck and began downloading.
To my surprise, I got hooked on the 1st episode itself. @_@ It got slow a bit in the middle and somewhere at the end the pace quickened and it just ended before you even realize what's really going on.
One thing I like about this anime is the great, great graphics. I have to admit, it's rare to see anime characters dance and to see their nice flow of movements. So just watching the ending scene was enough to keep me interested.
The music is good, especially if it's your taste. It took some getting used to on my part but yeah... it turned out to be pretty good as well. Haruhi (the main character) sings a couple of songs which are quite good as well.
It takes a while to like some of the characters and connect to them, most likely because the you're so tied up trying to catch up with the story, that the characters just seem like a minority. It's not to say that they're not likeable, they definitely are... but I guess this anime made me more interested in the story rather than the characters. Which is rare... That said, Yuki Nagato (the girl with the gray hair) rocks. ^^
Would I advice people to watch this anime? Yes, but if you have the spare time and patience. I don't know about you guys... but it takes quite some time to enjoy an anime that doesn't flow very well, yet it still tells the story well.
Now watchingDemashitaa! Powerpuff Girls ZYes, this is the anime version of Powerpuff Girls. I never really liked the Powerpuff Girls but I always found it entertaining anyway. And seeing as I love mahou shoujo and was extremely curious about this anime, I gave it a try.
So many comments about how it sucks... and yet I seem to love this anime a lot. People said the opening was irritating, but it actually got stuck in my head and even the ending song is quite nice.
Ok, so this isn't exactly like the powerpuff girls who just look like anime. This is a new story all together, just following certain facts about the Powerpuff Girls. Believe it or not, in Powerpuff Girls Z the girls are not sisters and were not created by sugar, spice and everything nice together with Chemical X.
In fact, they were created by Chemical Z, which was originally Chemical X until a daifuku fell into it. ^^;;;
The girls are actually normal 13 year olds until they get hit by Chemical Z where they transform into the Powerpuff Girls. Strangely enough, even the evil characters were created by Chemical Z.
I don't know about you guys, but I actually prefer this kind of story than the original one. But then again, it could be because I've always loved anime, mahou shojou and the cool transformations.
I've only watched until episode 5 and found it to be ok. It takes some time getting used to it especially if you're a fan of the original Powerpuff Girls.
But for me, I'm enjoying this anime as brainless fun. Lol! I'll say more once this anime's done.
RantWaah... I've been waiting for subs since last week. Are the fansubs having problems? I wanna watch Ouran!
