Kankeisei...Finished Gravitation! And all I can say is... the music was fantastic! But the story line was so-so...
The characters were not properly developed... and no matter how much I try (and no I am not being judgemental just because they're gay!) I couldn't convince myself that Syuichi and Yuki belong together. I mean, they're cute and all... but I'm so disappointed with Yuki's character development. I still don't get most of it... Maybe I should check out some sites and message boards to find out more about it.
For 13 episodes, this series flew by too fast. When I reached the last episode, I was like, "That's it?! But... But... what about Syuichi and Yuki? What will happen to them? Or more like... what
did happen to them??" -_-;; Sigh...
But again, I truly enjoyed Gravitation for it's music. I'm so glad that I have their CD...
Lately, I've began to wonder about Sakura and Syaoran's relationship. A lot of people (including myself) are a fan of this coupling. We have sites dedicated to them, people who continue ranting about their love for them on message boards and professing their utmost dedication for these two in fanfics. My question is...
Why?
The main reason that a lot of us will ever come up with is that, "They're so cute!!!!!". But is that it? I think there's a lot more about these two than that.
For one thing, there are a lot of cute coupling out there... but none so much as fascinates me as these two. Was it because I grew up loving these two? Was it because no one else could be as 'cute' as them?
In CCS, I only started liking this coupling after watching the last episode. Syaoran was so adorable trying to confess his feelings to Sakura and failing all the time... and to see him finally succeed and him leaving without a reply was rather heart breaking. A lot of us out there would probably hope for an answer... but Syaoran did not hope for it. He merely took it as it is. As long as Sakura knew his feelings that was good enough... And that's what attracted me to Syaoran.
Sakura, on the other hand, has a personality that we all love. She is sweet, kind, caring and naive. A character we'd either loathe or love. But after recieveing her confession from Syaoran, we see this little change that says, "I want to grow up... I want to be stronger... I want to understand..." especially after receiving news that Syaoran was going back to Hong Kong.
After saying this, what makes these two a couple we all want to see over and over? Why do we want to see more of these two?
In CCS, after realising that these two love each other, I wanted to see how would they treat each other after that. Would it change? Would Sakura really go 'Hanyaaan' as she did with Yukito or would she have a more mature way of handling her feelings for Syaoran? Would Syaoran still keep his hot temper around Sakura or would he (as I've noticed in the second movie) had grown out of this "childish" act and instead, hold a more dignified and mature look? How much will their love for each other affect them?
All these questions are sadly left unanswered... (some of you may say yes to these questions, but how sure are we? @.@) leaving us questioning. What sort of love would this be? This curiosity is what brought me to love this coupling... and of course to keep faithful to "Tsubasa".
In Tsubasa, we still continue with the torturing question which is "What sort of love would this be?" but our consolation would be that at least we're able to see more interaction between these two and most of all, discover the magic that binds these two together and binds us to love this coupling even more.
Take care and God bless. ^^
