Kitto soba ni iru nara
Okay, what attracted me was the opening clip I managed to get my hands on. Smooth movements, good graphics, great music and beautiful nostalgia. One thing led to another, and now I'm downloading it.
A new mahou shoujo anime that is.
Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha. So far, I've only watched the first episode and all I can say is...
I miss Cardcaptor Sakura!
It's not that Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles does not quench my thirst of seeing my lovely couple together... I guess what I loved most about Cardcaptor Sakura was the mahou shoujo part.
Sakura was interesting... she was strong, she held on to what she believed.
She was magical...
And that's exactly what I missed. Sakura. Not a whimpy Sakura who had lost her memories and is now dependant on a guy. Sure, there's proof that she has magical powers and Syaoran isn't that bad... (yes, I still find him hot!). It's just...
Where's the Sakura we used to love?
Anyway, back to Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha. So far (from what I've watched), the story revolves around Nanoha who is at the 3rd grade (that would make her 8 years old. Young...) She finds this ferret who is actually a boy but after losing his powers, is now stuck in this animal form. She hears his call for help, and the ferret claims that she has the right sort of nature to use magic. So he gives her magic, enabling her to transform into an armour and holds a staff.
Her mission? To collect this red jewels that are strewn around the world that could cause happiness or destruction...
So CCS? I thought so too...
The difference is better graphics. I give this anime top ratings for great graphics (plus the great opening!). Another difference is that there seems to be some weird panty shots going on in the show. Might not be so obvious, but look carefully and you'll see it.
Nanoha's transformation reminds me more of Sailormoon. As she goes into 'naked' mode and slowly the clothes 'weave' unto her.
Anyway, I have not watched enough to say that this is a good anime. I was only attracted to it because it had a CCS storyline to it... I'll let you know if it's worth getting once I'm done downloading it.
God bless.
