Anime review!!
Haha! My next anime review... what's up? I've finished D.N.Angel and have embarked on two new animes titled Gunslinger girl and Full Metal Alchemist.
D.N.Angel
Sure, I know you guys already know about this show, the handsome Dark, the cute Daisuke and the mysterious Hiwatari....
All I can say is... what an ending! And how different it is from the manga. I believe the manga is just another completely different story with just a few plots that is the same with the anime and that of course, same characters (note: there are other characters in the manga, too. One is a boy who likes to be a director and dreams of seeing Dark in his film ::sweatdrop::)
Anyway, I'm hoping to write a fanfic on Hiwatari! ^.^ I saw something in the ending that fascinated me about Hiwatari... It seems like he has a thing for Risa! Sooooo now I'm planning to write about a possible relationship about them.Wish me luck!
I really hope there's a second season to this show. It's soooo cute!
Gunslinger girl
A story about 5 young girls whose bodies have been modified after a tragedy befalls on them (example: one girl was found half dead and it seems that her family was trying to kill her for Insurance!). Their bodies have been modified specially to be hired killers for the government. All memories of their past have been erased... yet because they are still young girls, you can still see the child in them when their 'Guardians' treat them in certain ways.
They each have their own guardian. And all of them are different. Some of them are kind to their girl, while others are stern. Some are stern, but they try to show they care. But it always comes to mind that they are responsible for their training and if they need to be brainwashed (in case the girls start feeling too much of emotions that it affects their jobs).
The story is good, and I like the way you see those small moments when they start acting like girls, but in the end you realise that they can be very ruthless. Example, Rico (one of the 5) meets up with this boy and was fascinated by the way he's always talking and was slowly charmed. Even the boy liked her. But when the boy caught her as she was running away after killing someone, she merely smiled, apologised and aimed the gun at him. They didn't show whether she really shot him (it is most likely), but all you see is that she's just glad she can move her body (Rico was always sick and could never move, not until they modified her).
Music is so-so. Look out for the opening, 'The light before we land', it has to be the first english song I've heard from an anime, that sang good english! And the lyrics are beautiful.
A good show, if you like this sort of thing. (I do ^.^)
Full Metal Alchemist
Well, if you find Gunslinger girl too dramatic/depressing, then maybe this is the best one. For I suggest EVERYONE should watch this, as this has to be one of the best animes I've watched (and I really mean it).
Edward and Alphonse Elrick are the main charactes of this story. They're Alchemists, a mixture of science, nature and magic. Alchemy cannot be done without a fair trade, that means if you have wood, you can use alchemy to trun it into paper but not carbon.
They live with their mother, whereas their father has gone missing in war. The boys strive to keep their mother happy, with the disappearance of father. It seems that their mother is proud of them whenever they use Alchemy, as their father was an Alchemist, too.
When the boys mother died, they tried to use alchemy to get their mother back. But even the best alchemy could never be able to do such athing. In the end Edward loses his left leg and he almost lost his brother Alphonse, but in the end, in exchange for his right arm, Edward managed to retain Alphonse's soul that is now stuck in a metal armour.
With an arm and a leg gone, Edward decides to use auto-mail to replace his missing limbs (auto-mail is some sort of metal that is used for the millitary). Now Edward is part robotic and Alphonse's in a metal armour, a price heavily paid.
But Edward is unsatisfied, he and Alphonse go on a journey to become National Alchemist, search for their father (not really, it'll be by luck) and try to find a way to get Alphonse's body back.
What's funny is that Edward is the eldest, yet he is short! So wherever he goes he gets teased short. What's hillarious is if you say he's short he's reply will be something like "WHAT???? YOU SAY I'M AS SHORT AS A GRAIN OF RICE!!!!" LOL...
And with Alphonse moving around in an armour, sounding still like the young boy before he lost his body, and sometimes act like a little weakling is hillarious.
I give their music thumbs up. Especially the ending 'Kesenai tsumi' (I think it means irrasable sin... I could be wrong), beggining's not so bad, very good too (LOL, the title is Melissa, believe it or not)
A must watch. I assure you, you'd love it.
Extra note: The voice for Edward was familiar, I had a feeling it was from Shaman King. Guess what? I'm right! Except I thought it was Yoh... when it was... REN! (hearts) Now you know why I love this show!
Well, that's it for this reviewer. Might've wrote a lot of crap, but really, I've got to share some knowledge on some animes, right?
